Learn Chinese with Jiaqi Lun

Before becoming a teacher in HISD, Ms Jiaqi Lun was a management trainee of Maersk Sealand, an account manager of Anthem Worldwide and a print production manager of Procter & Gamble. Thanks to her business background, she has effective communication skills and extensive knowledge of doing business in China. 

ms Lun is experienced in curricumlum design and textbook writing. She wrote the Chinese II lesson exemplar for Houston ISD LOTE department, textbook of Travel Chinese class and Conversation Chinese class for CCC and textbook of Crash Chinese class for ASTC. 

Invited by American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language, Ms Lun gave two presentations “Building Sustainable Language Program through Community Partnership” and “Chinese-in-Action: Preparing the Youth to Engage with the World” in 2014 ACTFL conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Ms Lun is also a freelance translator/interpreter. She speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English fluently. She translated English to Cantonese for short film Fool’s Gold and taught famous Hollywood star James Hong Cantonese and Zak Tomic Mandarin.

With her strong work ethic, knowledge of instruction and keen communication skills, Ms Lun was nominated the Exemplary Teacher to Support Beginning Teachers as a KEY Teacher Leader in 2014 and awarded 2012-2013 Houston ISD Effective Teacher. She received 100% positive feedback in ASTC Crash Chinese end-of-course survey.
